Banana Guesthouse - A Popular Backpacker Hangout

Banana Guesthouse, run by Sombat and Kozue, a friendly Thai/Japanese couple is one of those guesthouses backpackers love to head to. There's a cozy feel to the place - Sombat made me feel more than welcome, inviting me to join him for drinks one night. There's lots of messages and drawings on the walls of the restaurant here, giving the guesthouse its own unique character.

Single-sex dormitories cost 100 baht a night...a single room with a cold shower (be brave in december/january when it's cold in the mornings in Chiang Mai costs just 120 baht....a twin room with a hot shower inside the room costs 200 baht - a double with hot shower inside will cost you 260 baht a night.
